Thorn Choir Beside the Sapphire Mire is a biological mystery game set on the edge of a vast, glowing wetland, where the player is a naturalist studying the unique ecosystem and where every small decision—which specimen to collect, which area to drain, which frequency to play—sends ripples through the fragile food chain and across the wide, misty waters of the mire, triggering mutations and revealing the source of its sapphire glow. The project is focused on highly tactile and scientific interactions with the flora and fauna, rewarding a player's analytical curiosity and methodical patience with new discoveries, evolved creatures, and answers to a environmental catastrophe.

We are composing an adaptive, bio-acoustic soundtrack where eerie cues and natural harmonies directly answer to the player's rhythm of study and their intent, making the chorus of life in the mire a manipulatable and integral part of the gameplay. Environmental storytelling is encoded in the ecosystem; every mutated plant, animal nesting site, and contaminated pool hints at the unauthorized experiments that poisoned the mire, the struggle for survival within it, and the potential for either restoration or further ruin. Our camera work is designed for both microscopic detail and panoramic views, shifting seamlessly to maintain flow from inspecting a tiny spore to surveying the entire bog, without ever breaking the player's scientific focus.
