Short description

We drill and maintain sustainable borehole wells to provide clean, safe drinking water to remote communities in Kenya. Access to water empowers communities, improves health, and unlocks economic potential.

Introduction

The daily struggle for clean and safe water defines life in many rural Kenyan villages, where women and children often spend several hours each day walking long distances to collect water from rivers, ponds, or other contaminated sources. This exhausting routine not only robs children of precious time that could be spent in school but also prevents women from pursuing income-generating activities that could improve their families’ lives. The water that is finally brought home is frequently rife with bacteria and parasites, leading to chronic illnesses, repeated infections, and tragically high child mortality rates. Our initiative was created to tackle this crisis at its root, addressing both the immediate health dangers and the systemic challenges that perpetuate poverty.

We employ skilled local drilling teams who understand the terrain and use robust, easy-to-maintain technology to ensure each well is both functional and sustainable. Importantly, every project is community-led. Villagers organize a water committee, contribute a small percentage of the total cost, and receive training in basic maintenance and repair. This approach builds a sense of ownership and accountability, ensuring the well’s longevity far beyond the initial construction phase. We don’t simply build a well and walk away; instead, we forge long-term partnerships designed to create lasting change and resilience within the community. By integrating training, cost-sharing, and local management, we empower villages to take control of their own water security.

The impact of a reliable water source is nothing short of transformative. Children, especially girls who would otherwise spend hours fetching water, can attend school consistently and pursue their education. Families gain the ability to grow small kitchen gardens, improving nutrition and reducing hunger. The time saved from water collection can be redirected into small businesses, farming, or other productive activities that lift households out of poverty. Community health improves dramatically, reducing the burden on overstretched local clinics and lowering healthcare costs for families. With fewer illnesses caused by contaminated water, children thrive, and parents are able to work more steadily. This campaign will directly fund the construction of ten new wells across rural Kenya, providing safe, reliable water to an estimated 5,000 people. Each well represents not just water, but hope, dignity, and the foundation for a healthier, more prosperous future.

Our Mission

Our mission is to end the water walk for good by providing sustainable access to clean water. We believe water is a fundamental human right and the cornerstone of community development, health, and dignity.

Key Features

Our model is built on sustainability, community ownership, and local employment. We conduct hydro-geological surveys to ensure water availability and test water quality rigorously after construction.

What Makes Our Project Unique

We focus on the most remote villages that are often overlooked by larger NGOs.

  • Our maintenance training program empowers communities to be self-reliant.
  • We integrate hygiene and sanitation education into every project.
